Donations

Here to support a volunteer’s semester abroad? Great! We often see friends and family who want to chip in by making a donation toward a volunteer’s program fee (which helps pay for things like their international flight, housing, and meals) while they have their adventure living abroad.

International Language Programs is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization and donations are tax-deductible.

How can I make sure my donation goes toward a particular volunteer? We love when volunteers have friends and family that want to support their experience, and contributing to their costs of volunteering is a great way to do that. When you enter the amount you’d like to donate, there is a “notes” box where you can enter the name of the individual the donation is for. Your full donation will be attributed to their program fee, minus any processing fees (if applicable).

How much is their program fee? It depends on the country and type of program they are volunteering in. You may want to talk to your volunteer if you’re not sure, but here are the prices to give you a frame of reference:

Mexico — $2,670
Thailand, Ukraine, and Lithuania — $2,970
Costa Rica, the DR, Nicaragua, and India — $3,970
Vanuatu — $4,470
Romania and Uganda — $5,470

I’m a parent of a volunteer and I’d like to see their payment history and remaining balance. Your volunteer has an account where they can log in and see that information. The best option is talking to them because you can share the same username and password to access that info anytime throughout their process of getting ready for departure.  You can also email accounts@ilp.org and we can help you out as well.

Can I make a general donation towards ILP instead of towards a particular volunteer? Yes! And thank you so much. When you’re entering the amount you would like to donate, there is a “notes” section, please put “general donation” there or leave a note with any other information you’d like us to know.
